Benjamin directed and co-produced The Throwaway War, which he earned an Excellence Award in Production from Northwestern University, a festival prize, the "Champion for Recovery" award from A Safe Haven Foundation, and a commercial distribution offer.
Among other films, Singer's collaboration on "A Dream Foreclosed" was showcased at the 2009 Chicago United Film Festival, and he was recently flown to the Peten region of Guatemala to shoot a short film on the developing community of Pueblo Nuevo. His senior thesis, Andrew Immortal, was a controversial narrative-documentary crossover that has so far earned a favorable review from the co-director of production and development at Lionsgate.

Benjamin's major directorial debut, The Throwaway War (44 minutes) follows formerly incarcerated drug offenders in Chicago as they seek to turn their lives around. The film began winning awards immediately and earned Benjamin a "Champion For Recovery" award from A Safe Haven recovery homes, an award that the entire crew deserves collectively.
Use full screen mode and block out 45 minutes to soak it all in.
